Association of Treatment Court Professionals to conduct conference

The Michigan Association of Treatment Court Professionals (MATCP) will conduct its 19th Annual Conference, "Keys to Recovery," on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 13-14, at the DeVos Place Conference Center & Amway Grand Plaza Hotel in Grand Rapids.

Presentations include plenary speakers from the University of Michigan and Doug Marlowe from the National Association of Drug Court Professionals, over 40 workshops, Treatment Court HERO awards, and the Parade of Transformation, where successful treatment court graduates are recognized.

MATCP's 2-day conference is designed to meet the educations needs of anyone who works within the justice system and deals with defendants and clients engaged in drug and alcohol abuse, dealing with mental health issues, trauma, and family matters.

In addition, MATCP will present an open forum, "Research-Based Treatment," on Monday, March 12, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, Atrium Room. The forum will include a presentation by Dr. Ken Robinson, founder and president of Corrections Consulting Inc., as well as a panel discussion on "Research-Based Treatment-What Works and What Doesn't, a Response to the Opiate Epidemic." This forum is open to the public and made possible by the support of the National Drug Court Institute, a division of the Dational Association of Drug Court Professionals.
