Civil rights and evictions

The Civil Rights Section of the Federal Bar Association, Eastern District of Michigan Chapter, presented a Lunch & Learn program titled “Making a Federal (Civil Rights) Case Out of Evictions” on Tuesday, Jan. 7, at the Theodore Levin U.S. Courthouse in Detroit. The panel consisted of (seated, left to right) Libby Benton, principal investigator, UM Poverty Solutions; U.S. District Court Judge Judith Levy, Eastern District of Michigan, program moderator; and Wayne County 36th District Court Chief Judge Nancy Blount; along with (standing, left to right) Steve Tomkowiak, executive director, Fair Housing Center of Metro Detroit; and Heidi Naasko, Pro Bono & Diversity counsel, Dykema LLC.
