Law firm introduces COVID-19 Insurance Coverage Task Force

Secrest Wardle has created a COVID-19 Insurance Coverage Task Force dedicated to following the emerging developments of this unprecedented global pandemic and its repercussions on the insurance industry. The team of specialized insurance coverage and litigation attorneys are evaluating the wave of business interruption and related claims being presented as COVID-19 impacts the nation. New suits challenging traditionally recognized triggers for coverage are mounting. Simultaneously, states are introducing bills to expand and/or mandate coverage and members of congress are urging insurance companies to provide coverage for commercial losses tied to COVID-19.

This team is closely monitoring the legal uncertainties associated with the rapid development and spread of COVID-19 and its aftermath. With several potentially new coverage issues on the horizon, it is ready and available to assist with your COVID-19 and Business Interruption claims.  This includes keeping clients apprised of developments as they occur, developing protocols for early evaluation and assessment of claims, providing pre-litigation coverage analysis, as well as, handling litigation and appeals.

Local members of the The Task Force include:

• Shelly Lee Griffin, executive partner, Troy, sgriffin@secrestwardle.com, 248-539-2847
• Robert B. Holt Jr., partner, Troy, rholt@secrestwardle.com, 248-539-2810

Secrest Wardle is a law firm specializing in defense litigation and counsel for insurance, municipal, and commercial clients headquartered in Troy, with additional offices in Grand Rapids and Lansing (www.secrestwardle.com).
