Topic of misdemeanor representation examined by seminar speakers

"Misdemeanor Representation: From Appointment to Zealous Advocacy" will be presented by the Oakland County Bar Association's Criminal & Municipal Law Committees on Wednesday, March 24, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Oakland County Bar Center in Bloomfield Hills.

This seminar is designed for new attorneys and attorneys who are new to criminal law.

Participants will be given the tools needed to apply for court appointment work. They will learn the procedures of the district court and get candid advice from a district court judge, veteran defense attorneys, and municipal prosecutors.

Speakers include Oakland County 50th District Court Judge Cynthia Thomas Walker; G. Hans Rentrop, municipal prosecutor; Vahan Vanerian, municipal prosecutor; Raymond A. Correll, defense attorney; and Angelina Sharon, Oakland County Court Administration Office.

Moderators include Kristen Bricker Kolb of Secrest Wardle and Barry Malone of Adkison, Need, & Allen PLLC
