As a part of the WCBA’s Bias Awareness Week, the ENPACT (Enhancing Police And Community Trust) Forum was held Oct. 21 at the Learning Resource Center (LRC) in the County Service Center in Ann Arbor. The ENPACT Coalition comprises both the Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti-Willow Run Branches of the NAACP, Black Employees Association of Washtenaw County Government (BEAWCG), Citizens for Justice, Huron Valley Association of Black Social Workers, ACLU of Michigan, ACLU of Washtenaw County, Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, Washtenaw Region (WLAM), and Washtenaw County Bar Association’s Criminal Law Section all in collaboration with the WCCJA (Washtenaw County Criminal Justice Association) and union presidents of the various law enforcement agencies throughout Washtenaw county. Panelists were representatives from the various law enforcement agencies in Washtenaw County and Michigan State Police. This program, arranged by the ENPACT Coalition as a co-sponsor with the WCBA, was moderated by Washtenaw County Public Defender Lloyd E. Powell. Washtenaw County Prosecutor Brian Mackie provided refreshments.
