Daniel T. Geherin, a partner at Simon & Geherin, PLLC, in Ann Arbor, has achieved Board Certification as a Criminal Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBTA).

Board Certification is one of the highest, most stringent, and most reliable honors an attorney can achieve. Approximately 3 percent of American lawyers are board certified, and only four attorneys in the State of Michigan have currently achieved Criminal Trial Board Certification by NBTA.

The elaborate screening of credentials that all NBTA board-certified attorneys must successfully complete includes: Demonstration of substantial trial experience, including completion of at least 45 trial days; submission of judicial and peer references attesting to competency; attendance of continuing legal education courses; submission of legal writing documents; and passing a 6-hour written examination.

Geherin, who is rated AV-Preeminent® by Martindale-Hubbell, exclusively handles adult and juvenile criminal cases throughout Southeastern Michigan, including drunk driving defense and driver’s license restoration cases.

He is a member of the Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan, the Federal and California Bar Associations, and the Washtenaw County Bar Association, where he was chairperson of the Criminal Law Section.
