What was always written on your grade school report card? “She can do better.” This sentiment drove me to push through college and law school. I could hear it hounding me and pushing me to achieve the next milestone. I think that once I was focused on a career objective that the “she can do better” went away and I found something to be truly passionate about.

When you were considering law school, what was Plan B?
A PhD in economics, but there were too many math requirements. Law school seemed easier.

What would surprise people about your job? The sheer amount of knowledge and research it takes to pull together a medical malpractice case is something many people are unaware of. None of them are quick or easy. They all take experience reviewing medical documents, asking an infinite amount of questions, and digging deep for the real story, the truth. I review cases every day to determine if a client truly has a malpractice issue. This takes research and asking all the right questions to determine what the true story is. Many times, clients don’t understand their legal rights where malpractice is concerned and I end up educating them about their case and their rights.

What is something most people don’t know about you? That my tough exterior hides a woman that has a heart and truly cares about my clients and the pain and suffering they and their families have been through.

What are your favorite local hangouts?
Anywhere on my boat

What is one thing you would like to learn to do?
Enjoy the moment. Maybe it’s the driver in me that is always striving for the next accomplishment. Sometimes I forget to stop and look around at what I have achieved. My career, my family, and my associates at Giroux Amburn make the life that I have created complete.

What is the best advice you ever received?
"You should have children." My children have given me such great joy; watching them grow up, discovering their own passions and creating amazing careers for themselves.

What were you doing in your last selfie?
I don’t take a lot of selfies. I’ll leave that to my children. However, in my last selfie I was with my Giroux Amburn teammates in Las Vegas in December. We were celebrating an amazing year that had some big wins for our clients, a number of significant trials and the success of a three-year- old firm.  Our partners Bob Giroux and Dean Amburn are creating a culture at our firm that we all dreamed about. I would say integrity is our first mantra. We work hard and have complete respect for each other and our clients.
