Annual 'Rockin' the CASA' to feature the music of Motown on November 14

The Friends of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is holding its annual fundraiser "Rockin' The Casa" on Nov. 14 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The event, this year featuring the music of Motown, will be held at the union hall located at 7920 Jackson Road in Ann Arbor.

Online tickets are available at www.casawashtenaw.org.

The CASA program is under the jurisdiction of the Washtenaw County Trial Court and is a partnership of the Court and the nonprofit Friends of CASA.

The Friends of CASA provide community education regarding the CASA program, and raise funds for volunteer recruitment, education, and professional supervision of the volunteers. Costs of the program are shared by the Court and the Friends of CASA.

CASA volunteers investigate and monitor children involved in abuse and neglect cases visiting with the child, foster and biological family members, teachers, therapists, guardians ad litem, and caseworkers.

They then make recommendations for interim services and the best way to achieve safe, permanent homes for the children.
