Medicaid workshops scheduled

If you work with older adults, chances are you need to know the ins and outs of the Medicaid program to correctly advise and guide them.

Your time is precious. Here's an opportunity to get reliable information about key parts of Medicaid in a short time at an affordable price.

Sign up for Elder Law of Michigan's Medicaid Boot Camp and learn a wealth of knowledge in just one day. New sessions have been added in Lansing on January 27, and Novi on January 28.

The Medicaid Boot Camp differs from other Medicaid training in that it is a comprehensive overview of Medicaid, not just an update on recent changes.

The training starts at a level accessible to those new to Medicaid or for those who have been away from the field for awhile.

Recognized Medicaid expert, attorney David L. Shaltz is the lead trainer.

Participants also will receive Elder Law of Michigan's Primer of Michigan's Medicaid Program that reflects all the recent changes in Michigan's Medicaid program.

The cost is $205 for private practitioners or other professionals and $130 for legal services staff, people who work in non-profit organizations or students.

Pro bono attorneys on Michigan State Bar Foundation approved panel lists can also sign up at the reduced non-profit rate.

You can sign up on-line (www.elderlawofmi.org) or call Alyssa Johnson at 517-853-2370, ext. 231.

All proceeds from the training will be used to support the work of Elder Law of Michigan, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization providing legal and human services to older adults of modest means in Michigan.

Lunch is included in the price of the training.
