Area groups are stepping up the collection of items to be sent to troops serving overseas.

The Public Service Committee of the Washtenaw County Bar Association and Thomas M. Cooley Law School are participating in "Operation IraqPac" while Washtenaw Court Services staffer Nancy Petoskey is planning to pack 12 cases of Girl Scout cookies for her boxes for the troops.

She also will need other items and monetary donations to help with shipping costs.

Her collection deadline has been extended to later in March.

For a list, or for more information, call 222-3001 or email Petoskey at
