Kidney Foundation seeks car donations

The National Kidney Foundation of Michigan (NKFM) is encouraging Michigan residents to help reduce environmental waste by donating their used vehicle to the Kidney Cars program.

The NKFM will pick up any old car, boat, motorcycle or truck regardless of its condition or location. Vehicles or parts are then resold, ensuring that the vehicle is completely reused and recycled. All proceeds go toward lifesaving programs and services to fight and prevent kidney disease.

In 2008 alone, Kidney Cars collected more than 46,000 tons of material and recycled it, putting to use new material that would have otherwise ended up in landfills.

To donate your used vehicle to Kidney Cars or for more information, call 800-488-CARS or visit www.kidneycars.org.
