Krasnoff chairs Law Day essay contest program for State Bar

A Law Day Essay Contest was held recently co-sponsored by the State Bar of Michigan in cooperation with the Michigan Lawyer's Auxiliary.

Middle school students (grades 6,7, and 8) wrote on topics related to the ABA Law Day theme: 'Law in the 21st Century: Enduring Traditions, Emerging Challenges."

The essay questions and winning essays are posted on the SBM website. Local attorney Margaret Krasnoff was chair of the Law Day program from the SBM Law Related Education-Public Outreach committee.

Three winners at each grade level, including one winner from Tappan Middle School, were honored, with their parents and teachers, with lunch and awards at the Hall of Justice in Lansing on May 3.

Keynote speaker was Chief Justice Marilyn Kelly and SBM president Charles Toy gave remarks as well.
