William Thacker joins Dickinson Wright in local office of firm

Dickinson Wright PLLC welcomes attorney William Thacker as a member of the firm's Ann Arbor office.

Thacker practices labor and employment law, with an emphasis on health care and educational institutions.

He advises clients on the day-to-day application of federal and state employment statutes and regulations, represents clients in employment litigation, assists clients in developing and drafting employment contracts and non-compete agreements, and litigates issues arising out of such agreements.

He also negotiates collective bargaining agreements, represents clients in grievance arbitration proceedings and counsels clients on collective bargaining agreement construction and application.

Thacker was lead counsel in the landmark Oakwood case regarding the appropriate standard for determining supervisory status under the National Labor Relations Act, and regularly advises health care clients on the many issues to be evaluated in the union representation process.

He has litigated numerous issues before the National Labor Relations Board on behalf of health care institutions and other clients in various industries.

Thacker has represented clients in numerous employment litigation matters in both state and federal courts in Michigan and Ohio, as well as in administrative proceedings before state and federal agencies.

Thacker, a frequent lecturer, received his bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University and his law degree from the University of Toledo,
