WISD's Greg Peoples named president of MASB board

Washtenaw Intermediate School District Board of Education Trustee Gregory Peoples recently was named president of the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB) Board of Directors.

The MASB board governs the association and oversses activities, establishes operatin gpolicy that furthers the mission of MASB and acts as the voice for more than 500 member school boards across the state. The focus of the board is to provide quality eeucational leadership services and advocate for student achievement in Michigan.

"MASB is fortuante to have Greg lead a team of veteran board members," said Executive Director Kathy Hayes. "his knowledge and passion for public education helps elevate both the association nd public education in our state."

Peoples has served on his local board of education since 12993 and has been on the MASB since 2004. "He has taken an active role in his association, having served on several association committees including resolutions, bylaws and finance," a spokesperson said.

"Greg is committed to becoming a more effective school board member, having earned the Award of Merit for his efforts to expand his knowledge and skills through professional development."

MASB provides quality educational leadership services for all Michigan boards of education and advocates for student achievement and public education.
