Nancy Petosky, a Court Services staffer, recently was honored at the Washtenaw County Council of Veterans 58th Annual Appreciation Dinner.

The dinner was held at the Saline American Legion Home, Post No. 322 in Saline.

At the dinner, she received a WCCV Certificate of Commendation for her troop box campaign. On the right, Petosky holds the Certificate plaque and stands in front of a bulletin board with photos and letters of thanks she has received from recipient soldiers.

The campaign has been underway for several years now, and Petosky recently mailed out 31 boxes to 14 individuals in overseas combat areas that included 354 pounds of various items for the troops.

In the latest box campaign, Petosky secured the help of Brownie Troop 40007 from Estabrook Elementary School in Ypsilanti. The troop helped pack boxes.

If you'd like to learn more, contact Petosky at petoskyn@ewashtenaw.org. She is always looking for help with the ongoing project.
