Secrest Wardle Executive Partner James R. Bradley and Partner Drew W. Broaddus have authored a negligence law article in the June 2018 edition of the Michigan Bar Journal. Their article, entitled “Nickola and the Limitations on Penalty Interest Awards in Tort Actions” provides an overview of the Michigan Supreme Court’s Nickola opinion and discusses its importance. James R. Bradley practices out of Secrest Wardle’s Lansing office and is a member of  the Construction, Employment, Motor Vehicle Litigation, Product Liability and Trucking/Commercial Vehicle Litigation Practice Groups. Bradley specializes in motor vehicle defense litigation and has successfully defended corporate and private clients in first party and third party automobile liability claims in both state and federal courts. Bradley is a member of the Council on Litigation Management, and has an AV Preeminent® rating by Martindale-Hubbell.

Drew W. Broaddus, located in the firm’s Grand Rapids office, currently serves as Chair of the Firm’s Appellate and Insurance Coverage Practice Groups. Broaddus is licensed to practice in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third and Sixth Circuits, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, and the Eastern District of Michigan Bankruptcy Court. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan sections on Insurance and Indemnity Law, and Appellate Practice, where he serves on the council. Broaddus has been named to the list of Rising Stars in Super Lawyers Magazine for 2012-2017 and as a top lawyer  by dbusiness Magazine to the list of Top Lawyers in 2017. Broaddus has received an AV Preeminent® rating by Martindale-Hubbell.
