MOUNT CLEMENS (AP) -- A second man has been convicted of murder in a Detroit-area crime spree that included a bank robbery and the abduction and slaying of a man.
A Macomb County jury last Thursday found 18-year-old Robert Taylor of Detroit guilty of five counts that included the murder of 21-year-old Matt Landry. He was kidnapped at random in August 2009 in an Eastpointe sub shop parking lot and held before being shot in the head.
His body was later found inside a vacant Detroit house.
Authorities say Taylor helped 18-year-old Ihab Maslamani, who was sentenced last month to life in prison without parole.
Taylor's attorney has said there are no facts to support the crimes. Maslamani's lawyer also denied his client killed Landry.
