The 36th District Court will be closed on Monday, May 31, 2010 in observance of Memorial Day. Only Criminal arraignments will be conducted.

The Third Circuit Civil, Criminal and Family Divisions will be closed on Monday, May 31, 2010, in observance of Memorial Day.

The Wayne County Probate Court will be closed in observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 31, 2010, and will reopen on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 8 a.m.

The Wayne County Clerk’s Office will be closed Monday, May 31, 2010, in observance of Memorial Day.

Wayne County Clerk’s Office announces weeklong closure
The Wayne County Clerk’s Vital Statistics Division-Downtown Detroit office, the Western Wayne satellite office, and the On-Demand Copy Center will be closed the week of May 31 through June 4 and will re-open on Monday, June 7. Clerk Cathy M. Garrett in a press release said the weeklong closure is a result of force layoffs. Services not available to the public during that time include: marriage license application and certifications; birth and death record requests; assumed business names applications; concealed weapons permit applications; notary commissions; passport applications; and On-Demand Copy Center services.

County Clerk Office locations affected include: Downtown Detroit office, Western Wayne satellite office, Northville Township satellite office, and On-Demand Copy Center.

Departments that will remain open to the public are: Elections Division; court services at Coleman A. Young Municipal Center, Frank Murphy Hall of Justice, Juvenile Division on Forest Avenue, including Juvenile/Family Division, Criminal Division, Civil/Family Division, and Court Records.

DMBA to hold 174th annual meeting May 27

DMBA’s 174th Annual Meeting will be held on Thursday, May 27 at the Greektown Casino Hotel.  The evening begins with the Past-President’s Reception at 5 p.m., followed by the Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet at 6 p.m. Tickets are $75 each, and tables of 10 are available for $600. UDM Law’s Project SALUTE to host legal clinic in Pontiac

University of Detroit Mercy School of Law’s (UDM Law) Project SALUTE will host a veterans’ legal clinic on Thursday, June 10, at the Pontiac VA Vet Center, 44200 Woodward Ave.108., from 2 to 4 p.m.
