District Judge Nancy Farmer on Friday bound Mathis over to Wayne County Circuit Court following his preliminary exam.

Gueyser testified she cursed Mathis, called him a “pervert” and left his office after he unzipped the front of his pants during a June 16 meeting.

Mathis resigned from the board June 17. He later wrote to the board that he “made inappropriate actions toward a professional employee” and regretted his actions.

Mathis faces misconduct in office and obscene conduct charges. He remains free on a $50,000 bond and has been ordered not to have contact with children at any school.
