The Wayne County Probate Court will be closed in observance of Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 6 and will reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 7 at 8 a.m.

The Wayne County Clerk’s Office will be closed Monday Sept. 6 in observance of Labor Day.

MDTC to host annual open golf tournament Sept. 10
The Michigan Defense Trial Counsel (MDTC) will host its 14th Annual MDTC Open Golf Tournament on Friday, Sept. 10, at the Mystic Creek Golf Club and Banquet Center in Milford. The event will begin with a shotgun start at 11 a.m. and will be played with a modified scramble format.

The cost to attend is $145 per person for those registering on or before Monday, Aug. 26, at which time the cost goes up to $155 per person. Cabin rentals are available at Camp Dearborn for all those interested in staying overnight following the outing. Call (313) 943-2350 to make a reservation. Golfers may create their own twosome or foursome, or choose to be paired randomly by MDTC.

Payment must be received on or before date of event.

For a refund, cancellations must be received in writing at least 72 hours in advance of the event less $20 administration fee.

National Asian Pacific ABA hosts annual conference Aug. 27

The Michigan affiliate of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) hosts the third annual Central Regional Conference on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 27-28,  at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center. Conference fees are $150 (private sector attorneys), $110 (public sector, retired and solo practitioners and NAPABA members) and $80 (law students and recent graduates not yet accepted to the bar). Attendees may also elect to attend Friday night, Saturday or Saturday night only. NALS of Detroit to present CLE After Hours program Sept. 13
NALS of Detroit will present a CLE After Hours program on Monday, Sept. 13, beginning at 6 p.m. at the offices of Barris, Sott, Denn, & Driker PLLC, 211 W. Fort Street, 15th floor, in Detroit. Guest speaker Carolyn Rico of Robert Half Legal will discuss “Managing Your Career.” Cost for the program is $13 for members and $15 for non-members. Reservations are required by noon on Friday, Sept. 10.
