McIntyre is president of Lansing Black Lawyers Association
Janene McIntyre, a principal public finance attorney at the law firm Foster Swift Collins and Smith, P.C. has been elected to serve as the 2011-2012 President of the Lansing Black Lawyers Association.

McIntyre is an attorney in Foster Swift’s Business and Corporate Law Practice Group. Prior to joining Foster Swift in 2010, McIntyre was a bond lawyer with Lewis & Munday, P.C. in Lansing. She has served as bond counsel, note counsel or underwriters’ counsel for more than 40 tax-exempt and taxable bond and note issues of issuers including the State of Michigan, the Michigan Finance Authority, the Michigan Department of Transportation and many Michigan universities, school districts and municipalities. She also has served as bond counsel for various bond issues from other jurisdictions.

Before her legal career, McIntyre was a State of  Michigan employee for more than 12 years, with the Michigan Municipal Bond Authority (currently known as the Michigan Finance Authority) with the Michigan Department of Treasury, and in the Office of Equal Opportunity with the Michigan Department of Human Services.

In addition to her presidency, McIntyre is a Board Member of Michigan Women in Finance and a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers, the American Bar Association, and the State Bar of Michigan.

Wayne Law Alumni Reunion Weekend set for Sept. 23-24
Wayne State University Law School and the Wayne Law Alumni Association will host the 2011 Wayne Law Alumni Reunion Weekend Sept. 23-24. This year's reunion weekend honors graduates of the classes of 1961, 1971, 1976, 1981, 1986, 1991 and 2001.

The weekend will kick off with an alumni reception from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, at the Detroit Athletic Club. On Saturday, Sept. 24, attendees will enjoy breakfast with Dean Robert M. Ackerman, faculty and student presentations, and building tours at the Law School from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. The weekend concludes with individual class dinners on Saturday evening.
