Judge Courtright to hold court at Allen Park High School
Judge John T. Courtright of the 24th District Court for Allen Park and Melvindale will hold court session April 20 at Allen Park High School located at 18401 Champaign Road in Allen Park.  The court session will begin at 9 a.m. Following the court session, Courtright will speak to the students.

The court docket for the morning includes a number of misdemeanor cases, including drunk driving, minor in possession, retail fraud, and possession of a controlled substance. All cases are actual pending court cases and will be resolved in this session of the judge’s morning call.

The Court to School Program was initiated by Courtright in 2007.  The court is taking a proactive approach to several of the more serious problems facing the children of the communities: drinking and driving, underage drinking, drug use, shoplifting, and juvenile crime. The students will be able to see firsthand that there are serious consequences for those who break the law.

This off-site session of the court is part of a unique initiative to help the students in making good life choices involving alcohol, drugs, shoplifting, and the internet that will affect their future.
