Honigman attorney elected to the DHDC board of directors

Kelsey Vidaillet Switzer, an attorney at Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP in the firm’s Labor and Employment Department, has been elected to the board of directors of the Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation (DHDC). The DHDC is committed to meeting the needs of its community by providing quality, innovative and culturally appropriate programs and services, primarily in the Southwest Detroit area.

In her legal practice, Switzer counsels employers on employment and labor law matters; defends employment discrimination, retaliation and harassment cases brought under federal and state laws; represents employers in administrative proceedings; and advises employers on employment handbooks, policies and procedures.

She earned a J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law.  Switzer also has an M.A. in Latin American and Caribbean studies from Florida International University and a B.A. in Spanish and Latin American, Caribbean and Iberian Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. 


ISIAL to hold annual Irish American Lawyers Scramble Golf Outing


The Incorporated Society of Irish American Lawyers (ISIAL) will host the 17th Annual Irish American Lawyers Scramble Golf Outing with special guest the Catholic Lawyers Society on Friday, Aug. 24, at Sanctuary Lake Golf Club, 1450 East South Blvd., in Troy. The first foursome will tee off at 1 p.m. Price is $60 for members and member’s guests, $75 for non-members. The price includes 18 holes of golf, cart, free range balls, beverages, and prizes. Dinner is not included but food is available at the Clubhouse. Put a team together or the ISIAL can assist with pairing golfers up with others to form a team. OCBA Criminal Law Committee holds ‘Know Your Judge’ lecture

The Oakland County Bar Association’s (OCBA) Criminal Law Committee will present “Know Your Judge I: District Courts” as a part of its Anatomy of a Criminal Case – Year XIV brown bag lunch lecture series on Tuesday, Aug. 21, from 11:30 a.m. to 12: 30 p.m. at the Oakland County Bar Center in Bloomfield Hills. The cost for OCBA members who pre-register is $10 and $20 for non-OCBA members who pre-register. All walk-ins are $20.
