Jurists study complex business litigation at judicial college in Reno

Three Michigan jurists recently studied complex business litigation at the National Judicial College in Reno in preparation for specialty business courts. Judge Chris Yates has a pilot program in Grand Raids and Judges Wendy Baxter and Amy Hathaway who preside in Wayne County Circuit Court will coordinate study programs for other county courts and judges.
 


Honigman partners co-author chapter on environmental law

Richard A. Barr and H. Kirk Meadows, partners in Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP’s Environmental Department, recently authored a chapter of the American Bar publication, “Implementing Institutional Controls at Brownfields and Other Contaminated Sites,” Second Edition.
Barr is based in Honigman’s Detroit office and chairs the firm’s Investment Incentives and Tax Savings Practice Group. He focuses on the redevelopment of contaminated sites including the use of federal, state and local incentives for Brownfield redevelopment.
Barr earned a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School and a B.B.A., with high distinction, in accounting from the University of Michigan.
Meadows is based in Honigman's Lansing office. He earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University and is a member of the Order of the Coif.  He received a B.A., with honors, Phi Beta Kappa, from Michigan State University.
