19th Annual ISIAL St. Patrick’s Day Parade Brunch March 15
The Incorporated Society of Irish American Lawyers invites you to join them at the 19th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade Brunch, preceding the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, on Sunday, March 15, at Mario’s Restaurant, doors opening at 10 a.m., with brunch to be served from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The program will begin about 10:15 a.m. Mario’s Restaurant is located at 4222 Second Avenue in Detroit.
The event will feature music for a sing-a-long presented by Cahill & Murphy as well as snappy commentary from co-MCs Michigan Court of Appeals Justice and former ISIAL President, Mike Riordan and former State Sen. Bruce Patterson.
Reservations – priced at $25 per person for ISIAL members; $30 for ISIAL non-member guests; $10 for those children 12 years old and under; and $20 for law student ISIAL members – will go fast and must purchased in advance by Friday, March 13. Otherwise, all adult brunches will be $35 at the door without a reservation and pre-payment.

Foes of new bridge won’t be heard by U.S. Supreme Court
DETROIT (AP) — The U.S. Supreme Court has turned down an appeal in a lawsuit that challenges the selection of a Detroit neighborhood for a new bridge to Canada.
Neighborhood groups and the private owners of the Ambassador Bridge claim the federal government violated environmental law, among other legal standards. But the work of the Federal Highway Administration has been upheld by a federal judge and an appeals court.
The Supreme Court said Monday it won’t get involved.
Supporters of a second bridge between Detroit and Ontario, Canada, say it could open by 2020. Canada and the federal government recently announced a critical deal to build a toll plaza on the U.S. side.
