Atlanta attorney to receive ABA's Pursuit of Justice Award May 11

Atlanta attorney David W. Boone has been selected to receive the American Bar Association's Pursuit of Justice Award, presented by the Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section in recognition of lawyers and judges who have shown outstanding merit and who excel in providing access to justice for all.

The award will be presented to Boone during the 6 p.m. welcome reception on Wednesday, May 11, at the ABA TIPS Section Conference at the InterContinental Buckhead in Atlanta.

"An avid protector of our justice system, his lifetime of dedication speaks to his commitment to advancing the civil justice system through consumer education and responses to unwarranted attacks on the system. He is a highly respected member of the Georgia legal system and he is recognized by his peers as a consummate professional."

Boone's practice, Boone & Stone Trial Lawyers, handles cases involving complex civil issues including personal injury, wrongful death, air crashes, professional malpractice, product liability, commercial litigation and qui tam actions brought on behalf of the federal government. He is a founding member of Boone & Stone.

Boone is a life member and past-president of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, a member of the American Bar Association, the National Transportation Bar Association and the Lawyer-Pilot Bar Association. In addition, he is a life member of the American Association for Justice (formerly, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America) and a past member of the AAJ President's Club.

He has served as the president and director of the Georgia Civil Justice Foundation, a nonprofit corporation founded by the Georgia Supreme Court and funded by the Georgia Legislature for the purpose of educating consumers and preserving the United States civil justice system. He is also member of the board of directors for the Attorney's Information Exchange Group.

Boone was admitted to practice in Florida (1978) and Georgia (1987). He received his undergraduate degree from University of Central Florida and his JD degree from Samford University.
