Secretary of State Ruth Johnson (right) and Secretary of State-elect Jocelyn Benson met Wednesday in Lansing as part of a transition process. The two met in the Austin Building and discussed, among other topics, the long-awaited computer upgrade project known as the Customer and Automotive Records System that begins implementation in February. Their conversation also touched on the changes ahead for the state’s elections system that voters approved in November’s election. Johnson’s staff provided detailed information about the department’s operation immediately after the election to ensure a smooth transition.
