• Oakland County Bar Association: Meet the Judges

The Oakland County Bar Association will host Meet the Judges from 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday, May 16 at Otus Supply, 345 E. 9 Mile Rd. in Ferndale. Judges from Oakland County district, Probate and Circuit courts, along with Michigan Court of Appeals, Michigan Supreme Court, U.S. Bankruptcy and U.S. District courts have all been invited to attend this event to network with current OCBA members. In addition to networking, check out the items that will be up for bid at this year’s silent auction. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Pontiac location of the Southwest Detroit Immigrant and Refugee Center. The Southwest Detroit Immigrant and Refugee Center provides free and low-cost legal services to under-served communities in the Detroit and Pontiac areas, with a focus on recent immigrants and refugees. The cost to register through May 15 is $45 for new lawyers, paralegals and students; $55 for OCBA members; and $70 for non-members. Register at www.ocba.org. On-site registration cost is $55 for new lawyers, paralegals and students; $65 for OCBA members; and $80 for non-members.
• Wayne Law hosting Annual Fundraiser for Free Legal Aid Clinic

Join the Free Legal Aid Clinic for a celebration of FLAC’s 54th anniversary. FLAC will be presenting its year in review summary as well as plans for the future in the Spencer M. Partrich Auditorium at Wayne Law, 471 W. Palmer in Detroit from 5:30-7 p.m. Friday, May 17. There will be an after party from 7-10 p.m.at Tony V’s, 5756 Cass Ave. in Detroit.
