ABA Section of Environment, Energy and Resources hosts 49th Spring Conference webinar series

Several top officials from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will speak at the 49th Spring Conference kickoff webinar and opening plenary, sponsored by the ABA Section of Environment, Energy and Resources, at 9 a.m. CDT (10 a.m. EDT) and 1 p.m. (2 p.m. EDT) Thursday, April 23. The series replaces the in-person meeting in Chicago, which was canceled due to health concerns amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The event is free to everyone, ABA member or not.

The prerecorded keynote presentation features comments from:

- Douglas H. Benevento, deputy administrator (nominee), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, D.C.

- Alexandra Dapolito Dunn, assistant administrator, Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, D.C.

- Peter Wright, assistant administrator, Office of Land and Emergency Management, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, D.C.

The opening plenary, "Something New: The Intersection of Policy, Science, and Litigation When New Contaminants Emerge," follows at 1-2:30 p.m. CDT (2-3:30 p.m. EDT) on Thursday. Panelists will discuss the increasing number of new contaminants as federal, state and local government officials evaluate how best to act to protect public health. Panelists include:

- Alexandra Dapolito Dunn, assistant administrator, Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, D.C.
