Rhoades McKee

Bruce Courtade of Rhoades McKee recently announced a partnership with other West Michigan community leaders in a program to provide meals to help two segments of the local economy suffering the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and its aftermath. Essential Support for Essential Workers is a vehicle for the West Michigan community to express their gratitude and appreciation for workers at Metro Health who are on the front lines of the battle against COVID-19 by purchasing meals from area restaurants who have suffered dramatic losses since being forced to shut down and convert to “carry-out” business models.

“Our goal is to provide from 50 to 150 meals per day for a month,” stated Bruce Courtade of Rhoades McKee, who spearheaded the effort and currently serves as a board member of Metro Health – University of Michigan Health. “Because of the support that we have received from clients and friends, Rhoades McKee has a long history of community engagement and support to numerous organizations such as Kids Food Basket, DA Blodgett St. John’s Home, and West Michigan Center of Arts and Technology. The unique aspect of this program is that it allows members of the community – for as little as $12 – to help our local restaurant workers in their time of need while at the same time honoring some of our health care heroes. After all, not all heroes wear capes – sometimes they wear scrubs or aprons. We hope that everyone who is in the position to do so can help us recognize, honor and support these local businesses and health care workers,” he continued.

Contributions can be made via Go Fund Me:  Essential Support for Essential Workers .  Within the campaign’s first few days, it has received more than $5,000.  The first meal is scheduled to be delivered to Metro Health at noon on Tuesday
