The 2021 holiday gift guide for lawyers

Nicole Black

The year 2021 has been one to remember, and it’s hard to believe that it’s nearly over. With Thanksgiving behind us, it’s time to start thinking about the holiday season. If you haven’t yet bought presents for the people on your gift list, never fear! Whether it’s lawyers, your office staff, family members, or friends, I’ve got you covered.

Below you’ll find some of my favorite gifts and/or purchases from the past year. Some are technology-related and others are intended to bring a bit of joy to the upcoming winter months. So without further ado, here are my top gift recommendations.

First, consider investing in an iPad Pro. This new iPad comes in two sizes: an 11-inch display and a 12.9-inch display. It was released in May and has a powerful M1 chip, a revamped front-facing camera, and a Liquid Retina XDR mini-LED display is available with the 12.9-inch model. Whether your intended gift recipient will use it for work or play, it’s a great, albeit costly, investment. The price of the smaller iPad starts at $799 and the larger one starts at $1099.

Of course, you’ll also need accessories for the new iPad. Protect the screen from scratches and other damage with a screen protector. I recently purchased the Bersem Paperfeel Screen protector for $13.99 on Amazon and it’s a great option, although there are certainly plenty of others.

Also, consider an iPad stand. I recommend the Parblo PR 110 Universal Tablet Stand. It lies flat for easy transport and is adjustable with four different angles available. The current price on Amazon is $34.92.

Next, since remote work will undoubtedly be part of most everyone’s lives in the months to come, consider buying a ring light for someone on your gift list. These lights provide picture-perfect lighting for your video meetings and ensure that you always look great regardless of the time of day. There are many options available with a variety of features and price points. I recently invested in a very reasonably-priced ring light that I would recommend: UBeesize 10” Selfie Ring Light with 50” Extendable Tripod Stand & Phone Holder. Right now it costs $28.79 on Amazon.

Finally, consider a monthly subscription (or two) for someone on your list. There are two subscriptions that I really like. First, there’s a monthly flower subscription from Enjoy Flowers (online: enjoyflowers.com). Receiving a monthly delivery of flowers is a great way to brighten up a home or office, and Enjoy Flowers offers reasonably priced monthly subscriptions that start at $44 per month. The bouquets vary each month and the flowers are always fresh and last for at least a week.

Next, the monthly sock subscription from Philosockphy on Amazon makes a great present. You can choose whether to send crew or ankle socks, and have the option of sending one, four, or six pairs each month. One pair per month costs $11, four pairs cost $43, and six pairs cost $63. I’ve found that the socks they send are both high quality and often include seasonal designs appropriate for any given month, which is a nice touch.

Those are a few of my top gift ideas for this holiday season. I hope one of those ideas is a good fit for someone on your gift list! So what are you waiting for? You don’t have much time left. Start shopping!
