Warner Norcross attorneys edit, help write Michigan family law guide

Four attorneys from the law firm of Warner Norcross & Judd LLP have made significant contributions to the newly released “Michigan Family Law” guide, including three from the Grand Rapids office.

Richard A. Roane, who chairs the firm’s Family Law Practice, served as co-editor of the seventh edition of the book, which is published by the Institute for Continuing Legal Education.  He also contributed a chapter on “Alternative Dispute Resolution in Family Law Cases,” writing on the emerging field of collaborative law.

“The new edition of ‘Michigan Family Law’ features expanded sections areas that have changed substantively over the years, including electronic discovery and tax consequences of divorce,” Roane explained. “The guide is incredibly comprehensive, featuring up-to-date information on virtually every aspect of family law.  Warner Norcross is pleased to have been so actively involved in writing and editing this updated version.”

Other Grand Rapids office contributors include Heidi A. Lyon and George L. Whitfield, both of whom concentrate their practices in employee benefits. They co-authored the chapter on “Division of Retirement Benefits” with George L. Whitfield, who also concentrates his practice in employee benefits

Nazli G. Sater, who concentrates her Southfield practice on family law, also wrote a chapter, on “Child Custody and Parenting Time”
