Mark D. Goudy
1962-2018
Attorney Mark D. Goudy passed away quietly at his home, surrounded by his family, on March 14. He was a lawyer at Van Dam & Jesson, PLC. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from University of Michigan in 1984 and his Juris Doctorate from Ohio State University in 1987.
Van Dam & Jesson has offices on 44th St. S.E. in Grand Rapids, Byron Center, Grandville, Wayland, and Lowell. Goudy was a litigator, with a focus on personal injury and family law, including appellate representation. He was a member of the State Bar of Michigan Family Law Section and of the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association.
Goudy was preceded in death by his son, Christian; grandparents, Carl and Mildred Parker, Walter and Eva Goudy, among others. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Toni; children, Stephanie (Cody Williamson) Wilson, Timothy Wilson; grandchildren, Kevin, Trenton, Hayden, Evelyn and Wesley; parents, David and Jeanne Goudy; sister, Shelley (John) Folkertsma; brother, Scott (Somar) Goudy, other relatives, and his best friend, Todd Densmore.
Goudy loved his family and was truly devoted to them, as well as to his friends.
His greatest hobby was fishing. He enjoyed trying new things including his recent years of learning to play the ukulele.
