Cummings named a member of Bodman PLC

Four attorneys have been admitted as members of Bodman PLC, including Lindsay M. Cummings of the Grand Rapids office, previously a senior attorney.

 Cummings is a member of Bodman’s High Net Worth Practice Group.  She represents individual clients in connection with estate planning and estate administration matters including trusts, wills, powers of attorney, guardianships, conservatorships, and trust and probate administration.

Cummings has a decade of experience focused on estate planning, real estate law, and general business law. Before joining Bodman, she founded and operated her own law firm in Grand Rapids, representing individual clients in estate planning, real estate, and general business law matters.  She served formerly as a visiting professor with Western Michigan University Cooley Law School where she taught contracts and as an adjunct professor where she taught estate planning.

Cummings is a member of the State Bar of Michigan Probate & Estate Planning Section, the Grand Rapids Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.

The others admitted as members are Jay B. Long, Noel J. Ravenscroft, and Erica J. Shell, all in the Detroit office.

 

Schepers joins Wheeler Upham
 

James K. Schepers has joined Wheeler Upham, P.C. in Grand Rapids, as Of Counsel.

Schepers assists clients with their estate planning and incapacity needs; probate court administration, trust planning and administration; and in representing court-appointed fiduciaries, in various courts throughout Michigan.

Schepers began his career in private practice and spent much time in complex litigation, including several out-of-state, month-long trials. 

After becoming a partner in a law firm, he began his own firm in 1999 to better serve his clients and their families.

Also a n artist, he enjoys drawing pictures on legal pads to explain strategies to his clients.
