Attorney Charles L. Bogren recently joined the Governmental Law Practice Group of Plunkett Cooney, one of the Midwest’s oldest and largest full-service law firms.
A member of the firm’s Grand Rapids office, Bogren focuses his practice in the area of governmental law and related litigation. His expertise includes the defense of municipalities and other public entities in First Amendment disputes, due process claims, Open Meetings Act and Freedom of Information Act matters, civil rights cases and employment-related litigation.
In addition to his public-sector practice, Bogren has extensive experience handling general business litigation, including bankruptcy, commercial disputes, real estate and insurance coverage with an emphasis on matters stemming from bankruptcy filings.
Admitted to practice in the state and federal courts in Michigan, Bogren is a member of multiple sections of the State Bar of Michigan, including the Government Law, Business Law and Litigation divisions. He is also licensed to practice in Illinois.
Bogren graduated from the University of Kansas Law School in 2018. While there, he served as Business Manager and Staff Editor for the Kansas Journal of Law & Public Policy and as a member of the University of Kansas School of Law Moot Court Council. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in 2012.
