GCBA's Law Day Celebration

 FLINT - The Genesee County Bar Association will celebrate National Law Day U.S.A. with many activities which represent the GCBA's rich history of contributions and service to our community.

FRIDAY, APRIL 30, 2010, 11:15 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
LAW DAY LUNCHEON, MASONIC TEMPLE DOWNTOWN FLINT
The luncheon will feature keynote speaker Leonard Speckin, Forensic Document Analyst and Ink Dating Specialist of Speckin Forensics. Recognition will be given to each school participating in the Mock Trials that afternoon. The luncheon will also honor Jeff Nagy with the Golden Apple Award (presented for exemplary work in promoting law-related education); League of Women Voters of the Flint Area will be given the Liberty Bell Award (presented to non-lawyer organizations for their voluntary efforts to promote law-related awareness); and Dr. Edwin H. Gullekson will be given the Crime Victims' Services award by Prosecutor S. David Leyton (presented to those who act as advocates on behalf of victims of crime).

HIGH SCHOOL MOCK TRIALS, GENESEE COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT
High School trial teams will argue a case before area judges. The teams have prepared for the case with the help of teacher and attorney advisors. Participating schools are:

SENIOR OUTREACH AND TEENS AND THE LAW - MULTI-DAY ACTIVITIES
