'Wilds of Michigan' campaign to boost tourism
IRONWOOD, Mich. (AP) -- A promotional campaign is aiming to boost tourism in the western Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
The Daily Globe of Ironwood reports the effort seeks to draw visitors into Gogebic and Ontonagon counties. The area being promoted by the campaign includes the Porcupine Mountains, and is located along the border with Wisconsin.
The campaign highlights Lake Superior, waterfalls, wilderness areas and other year-round draws.
