Kilpatrick jury: Evidence was only critical thing

DETROIT (AP) -- Jurors say there were passionate arguments but much respect for each other as they worked toward a verdict in the corruption trial of former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick. Eleven members of the jury agreed to speak to reporters Monday after convicting Kilpatrick, but they declined to give their names. One woman says she voted twice for Kilpatrick and found the evidence against him had turned her stomach. Judge Nancy Edmunds says she didn't sense any deadlocks among jurors. The jury finished most of its work last Friday but wanted to wait until Monday to deliver the verdict. Kilpatrick pal Bobby Ferguson was also convicted of corruption charges.
