Third Annual Lawyers Got Talent a success

Again the lights dimmed in the ballroom of the Lexington Lansing Hotel on the evening of July 12th for the Third Annual Lawyers Got Talent extravaganza. The lawyer/performers, unusually nervous for this non-courtroom appearance, were in the wings. The judges, Hon. Donald Allen, Hon. Joyce Draganchuk and Hon. Andrea Larkin were in place and the house band composed of Rush Clement, Ron Bretz, Greg Hodge and Dan Mead, was ready.

Cynthia Ward, Emcee, took the stage. She welcomed everyone to the talent show and announced the first act, Bretz & Band with Sheila Kathleen McCoy singing "Walking on Sunshine by Katrina & the Waves. The eleven acts that followed included:

* Maureen Dyer--"Smackwater Jack" by Carole King

* Katrina Coleman--Flute "Last Dance" (Donna Summer)

* Brian Smith--"If I Can Dream" (Elvis Presley)

* Iris Linder & Doug Austin--"Turn Back O Man" (Godspell)

* Timothy Perrone--"More Excerpts from an English Composer" (Sir Elton John)

* Sam Reedy--"John Traubert's Blues" aka "Waltzing Matilda"

After a brief intermission:

* Sinas Dramis Liabilities: Joel Finnell, Dan Moraniec, Stephen Sinas, Colin Bradley, Brittney Cole, Jason Cole, Alisha Spenser and Paul Friener--"Gold on the Ceiling" (Black Keys) Janet Mendez, normally with the band, was unable to perform due to a family emergency.

* Stephanie Menezile--"All I Could Do Was Cry" Etta James

* Robert Jenkins--Comedian

* Sarah Wallace--"O mio babbino caro" (Giacomo Puccini) She was accompanied on the piano with Takis Pizanis

* Joe Poprawa--"Cinnamon Girl" (Neil Young

While the audience sang and danced with the house band, the judges met to tally up their scores.

This years winners:

1st Place: Sarah Wallace - ''O mio babbino caro'' (Giacomo Puccini), with Takis Pizanis--Accompanist--she received a $212 gift certificate to Zoe Life Spa and Salon "Zoelicious Experience"

2nd Place: Sam Reedy - ''John Traubert's Blues'' a.k.a. ''Waltzing Matilda'', award an ICBA Dinner ticket November 13, 2013

3rd Place: Robert Jenkins - Comedian also received an ICBA gift certificate.

Peoples Choice Award:
