Ronald E. Whitney, a Corporate Department partner at Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP, has been elected to the board of directors of the Chamber Music Society of Detroit. The mission of the Chamber Music Society of Detroit is to present chamber musicians of international stature in acoustically outstanding venues, to enrich the cultural life of the City of Detroit and the metropolitan area by promoting the appreciation of chamber music, and to communicate a positive image of the region through prominence in the international chamber music community. Each year the CMSD produces 20 concerts and reaches more than 20,000 people in Michigan through its educational and outreach programs.
Whitney focuses his practice on general business law and transactional matters, helping clients buy and sell business operations (domestic and international) and advising them how to structure deals to achieve their long-term goals. He also helps clients negotiate business arrangements with their customers and suppliers, and assists in resolving disputes arising out of their business activities He represents public and private companies, their owners, directors and officers.
Whitney earned an LL.M. from New York University and a J.D. from the Columbia University School of Law. He also holds an M.B.A. from George Washington University and a B.Sc. from the University of Nebraska.
