The Save Our Youth after school program at the 4th Street Academy, part of the Middle School At Parkside, is held 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesdays. Classes are taught by volunteers, assisted by a teacher or substitute teacher. Retired principal Lawrence Green, chair of the Jackson Chapter Pro Duffers, teaches golf; Jackson College student Chris Moss teaches music; and Thomas Burke, founder, executive director and CEO of Save Our Youth, teaches robot building.
