Get to Know Jason Brown

By Jo Mathis Legal News Jason Brown is an associate attorney at Romano Law. He has had a lifelong ambition to practice law. His father has a small private practice where Brown worked from a young age. He hose to practice personal injury law because of the opportunity it provides to help people restore their lives after suffering an unfortunate injury. A resident of Royal Oak, Brown earned his J.D. in 2013 from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and his bachelor's in 2010 from Kalamazoo College, where he was captain of the tennis team and secretary of the Jewish Law Student Association. During law school Brown participated in the Cooley Volunteer Corps where he assisted the understaffed, and underfunded Highland Park legal department. He also participated in the Cooley Estate Planning Clinic where he helped individuals that could not afford legal representation to execute wills and other documents to protect themselves and their families. Favorite local hangout? Hopcat. Favorite website? ESPN. What is your proudest moment as a lawyer? Passing the bar exam and winning my first appeal. What was always written on your grade school report card? "Uses time wisely." What is your happiest childhood memory? A family trip to Disney World. What's the best compliment you've ever received? That my work ethic is invaluable. When you were considering law school, what was Plan B? Psychiatry. What would surprise people about your job? The amount of driving it requires. What do you wish someone would invent? Teleportation. When you look back into the past, what do you miss most? Never being injured. What is your most typical mood? Happy. What question do you most often ask yourself? Are there ways to improve what I am doing? What's the most awe-inspiring place you've ever been? The Grand Canyon.
