The Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan will conduct an online training on “Un-Masking CDL Violations” on Friday, May 14, from noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom.
As part of the Traffic Safety Training Program Webinar Series, this training will feature Jim Camp, staff attorney with the National Traffic Law Center.
Most prosecutors are aware of the impaired driving statutes that apply to commercial drivers, but many are unaware of the problem of “masking.” Masking occurs when commercial drivers are allowed to avoid a conviction for any traffic violation from appearing on their driving record. Attendees will learn about the problem of masking, its consequences, and how to ensure that they are not engaging in it.
This course is approved for 1 hour of credit under PAAM’s recommended CLE Best Practice.
