Judges and staff of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan gathered at the Theodore Levin U.S. Courthouse in Detroit on Wednesday to dedicate a photo display of all 28 federal magistrate judges who served in the district. The display is located on the first floor corridor of the courthouse opposite a photo array of all 67 U.S. District Judges who have served on the court since 1837. The first magistrate judge in the Eastern District was the late Paul Komives, who served from 1971-97. The Court currently has seven magistrate judges serving at courthouses in Ann Arbor, Detroit, Flint and Bay City.
