'Developmentally Disabled Guardianships' examined

The Michigan Judicial Institute (MJI) in collaboration with the Michigan Probate and Juvenile Registers Association (MPJRA) is pleased to continue the live webinar series for new(er) probate registers. The "New Probate Registers: Developmentally Disabled Guardianships Webinar" will take place Thursday, March 3, from noon to 1 p.m.

This presentation will address the process for petitioning the probate court for appointment of a plenary or partial guardian for an individual with an alleged developmental disability. The presentation will cover the Mental Health Code provisions related to guardianships for the developmentally disabled, the applicable forms, and important "things to know" about the process.

Speaking at the webinar will be Samuel A. Olson, court administrator/register, Genesee County Probate Court.
