'Marijuana Ordinances' focus of webinar May 26

The State Bar of Michigan's Cannabis Law Section will present a webinar on "Citizen Initiated Local Marijuana Ordinances: Procedures and Pending Litigation" Thursday, May 26, from 4 to 5 p.m. via Zoom. The webinar will be presented by Doug Mains, partner at Honigman and expert in cannabis law and election law.

MCL 333.27956 allows citizens to petition to initiate ordinances to prohibit or allow marijuana establishments. This law has been the subject of great interest-both for and against facilities-and litigation since MRTA was adopted. Attendees will hear from an expert about the law and the lawsuits that have arisen since Michigan's recreational marijuana law was passed.
