Race Judicata produces a host of winners

A spirited turnout of runners and walkers highlighted the Oakland County Bar Association’s 43rd annual Race Judicata on October 9 at Birmingham Covington School.

“The weather was great and the company even better for Race Judicata,” said Jennifer Roosenberg, executive director of the OCBA. “We enjoyed seeing families, friends, and animals all out on the course.”

The winner of the 5-km race for males was Patrick Lannen, who covered the 5-kilometer distance in 18:04, a 5:49 per mile clip over the 3.1-mile route. Placing second for men was Steven Susser in 20:20, while Michael Steinberger was third in male division at 20:35.

Erica Shell captured first place honors in the women’s race, crossing the finish line in 18:48, a 6:03 per mile pace. Finishing second was Ashleigh Wagner in 23:50, while Leslie McIntyre took third in 25:30.

The Jaffe/Taft squad took first place in the team competition with a combined time of 1:03. Team members included Christopher Haboian, Marko Belej, Matt Murphy, Sam Schiffer, and Joseph Lash.

Among walkers, Sandra Colson was the first to cross the finish line in 41:25, while Daniel King was second in 54:32 and Vicky King third in 54:55.
