Lecture examines civil rights icon George W. Crockett Jr.

Wayne State University Law School will host a lecture on the book "No Equal Justice: The Legacy of Civil Rights Icon George W. Crockett Jr." with co-author Peter Hammer on Friday, December 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Spencer M. Partrich Auditorium in Detroit.

George Crockett Jr. spent his life fighting racism and defending the constitutional rights of the oppressed. In the recently published book, "No Equal Justice," Hammer explores Crockett's life and legacy.

Hammer was named the A. Alfred Taubman Endowed Chair at Wayne Law in fall 2018. He has taught at Wayne Law since 2003 and is the director of the Damon J. Keith Center for Civil Rights.

The Keith Center is dedicated to promoting the educational, economic and political empowerment of under-represented communities in urban areas and to ensuring that the phrase "equal justice under law" applies to all members of society.

Anyone with questions about this free lecture may email Hammer at phammer@wayne.edu.
