Scott Hill named to Powerful Business Leaders list
Varnum Executive Partner Scott Hill has been named to the 200 Most Powerful Business Leaders in West Michigan, as recognized by the Grand Rapids Business Journal; the fourth consecutive year he has been recognized.
A corporate attorney focusing on business representation, including transactions, planning and counseling, Hill deals with supply chain opportunities and risks on a variety of levels and works with several closely held businesses on their succession planning needs. He also counsels clients on sales, mergers and similar transactional issues.
Hill is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Grand Rapids Bar Association and serves on the Governance Committee of the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce. He frequently serves as a panelist on discussions affecting family-owned businesses and automotive suppliers.
Blackford Capital acquires Starfire Direct
Blackford Capital has acquired Starfire Direct, based in Temecula, Calif., a direct-to-consumer company in the hearth and patio sector.
Starfire Direct joins Blackford Capital’s Patio Consolidation portfolio, envisioned to be an asset-light, multi-product, omni channel platform offering products within the home outdoor space. The acquisition is the first part of a multi-phase plan to consolidate several participants.
The Starfire Direct management team, led by founder and CEO Jonathan Burlingham and Chief Operating Officer Wes Chyrchel, will remain with the platform.
