Withdrawing from client representation discussed

The Legal Ethics Committee of the Federal Bar Association, Eastern District of Michigan Chapter, will present “Withdrawing from Representation: Ethical Dos and Don’ts” on Tuesday, March 14, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Detroit Room of the  Theodore Levin U.S. Courthouse, 231 West Lafayette in Detroit.

The program will explore the ethical implications of withdrawing from representing a client.?  Speaking at the program will be U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge Anthony Patti, Eastern District of Michigan; Robinjit Kaur Eagleson, ethics counsel, State Bar of Michigan; Edward J. Hood, member, Clark Hill PLC; along with moderator, Jennifer McManus, Fagan McManus PC.

The speakers will discuss:

  • Permissible and impermissible reasons to seek leave to withdraw.
  • Timing considerations  in seeking leave to withdraw.
  • Duties to client in seeking leave to withdraw.
  • The motion to withdraw.
  • Post-withdrawal duties to client.
